The Clean Energy Solutions Center, in partnership with the Low Emissions Development Global Partnership (LEDS GP), hosted this training webinar on low-carbon urban mobility plans. This webinar—the final webinar of the transport series—focused on planning and financing sustainable, low-carbon urban transportation. Our presenter, Dr. Dario Hidalgo, Director of Research and Practice, EMBARQ, World Resources Institute (WRI), examined the issues around development of clean transport systems and programs and spoke to possible solutions. This webinar was intended for city-level officials and technical staff. Dr. Hidalgo discussed:
- National urban transport policies and programs for financing to help cities address challenges related to developing high-quality and efficient transport infrastructure for sustainable transport systems.
- A variety of financing practices currently in place to help decision makers identify suitable paths forward in their local context.
- Two major models of urban transportation financing schemes: Centralized Funding Programs and Decentralized Financing Policies.
