Aligning NDCs and LTS: Energy
26 June 2024
Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and Long-Term Strategies (LTS) are at the heart of climate planning for many countries. In 2025, countries will submit updated NDCs to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) highlighting their new or updated goals to reach commitments outlined in the Paris Agreement.
Leading up to the workshop, this webinar series, presented in partnership with the Clean Energy Solutions Center, highlights key elements of the NDC and LTS processes and shares experiences from policymakers around the world. Focusing on NDCs and LTS, the global workshop supports countries in aligning their NDCs with long-term goals and provide pathways for planning, implementing, and financing those commitments.
In the third webinar in this series, experts make connections between the NDCs and ambitions to triple renewable energy targets by 2030. This presentation is followed by insights into programs and initiatives that Panama is taking to increase its share of renewable energy resources. Following these informative presentations, participants were given an opportunity to engage in Q&A with the experts.
