Development Banks
Multilateral, regional and national development banks have the mandate to support national and subnational development efforts, especially targeting projects that may have difficulty accessing private sector capital at commercial rates. Development banks can provide grants, equity, debt, and risk mitigation measures, like credit enhancements, guarantees, and insurance as well as technical assistance and capacity building programs. Development banks can provide investments for either public or private sector entities, depending on their mandate.
