Date:

1 January 2023

The U.S. Energy and Employment Report (USEER) compiles data from surveys of energy sector employers to offer a comprehensive overview of national and state-level energy jobs, including industries, technologies, and regions. Initiated in 2016 to address data gaps, the 2023 USEER reveals the energy workforce grew by almost 300,000 jobs (3.8%) from 2021 to 2022, surpassing overall U.S. workforce growth. Clean energy jobs increased 3.9% nationally, aligning with President Biden’s carbon-free goals. The report also provides demographic insights, aiding workforce recruitment and training initiatives for greater representation.
