Nominations for 2024 Equality in Energy Transitions Awards now open

With great pride, Women in Renewable Energy partners with Natural Resources Canada and the Equality in Energy Transitions (an initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial) to present one of the energy industry’s most prestigious awards programs.

The 2024 Equality in Energy Transitions (EIET) Awards honors women and organizations for their leadership, innovation, and dedication in the energy enterprise, including, but not limited to, industry, academia, advocacy, NGOs, government, and research. We invite nominations of women and organizations from anywhere in the world as this award program supports diverse backgrounds and experience levels. 

There are three (3) awards that make up the 2024 EIET Awards program. Some criteria are unique to each award. To learn more about each award, click on the links below.

Woman of Distinction

  • A woman with more than ten (10) years in or directly contributing to the energy sector

Organizational Leadership

  • Nonprofit and for profit organizations with at least five (5) years in or directly contributing to  the energy sector. The representative(s) accepting this award on behalf of the organization can be any single person, group, or division of the organization.

Emerging Leader

  • A woman with 3 to 10 years in or directly contributing to the energy sector.

The winners of the 2024 EIET Awards program will be recognized at the 15th Annual Clean Energy Ministerial Conference, taking place in Foz de Iguazu, Brazil, from October 1, 2024 to October 3, 2024.

To increase a candidate’s chances of success, garnering endorsements through nominations is paramount. Whether you nominate yourself or someone else or an organization within your network, sharing the nomination form with a broader audience is crucial. By doing so, you accumulate support from others who also endorse your candidate. Each person who fills out this nomination form should consider it a powerful letter of recommendation that emphasizes the candidate’s qualifications and suitability for the accolade.

If you wish to send your letter of recommendation (or any other supporting documents) by email you can do so by emailing info@womeninrenewableenergy.ca. It is very important to include the candidate’s name and which award you are nominating them for in the subject line.
