The CEM will convene at the 14^th Clean Energy Ministerial, which will take place, jointly with the 8^th Mission Innovation Meeting, from the 19^th to the 22^{nd of} July 2023. This year’s host is India, whose Ministry of Power and Ministry of Science and Technology will kindly welcome the meeting in the state of Goa.

International collaboration is the DNA of the CEM. As a group of 29 member countries, 40+ participating governments, several partner organizations, and 1000 of individual contributors, we work together to advance clean energy deployment and uptake. Together, we share knowledge, resources, and best practices to more quickly deploy the technologies needed for a net zero future. CEM members combined invested more than 1$ trillion in 2022 and their net-zero pledges encompass 76% of global emissions – which indicated their leadership on both energy transition and climate action. Governments and participants meet annually to track clean energy progress and steer innovation and investments towards a greener future.

This year’s ministerial is remarkable since it will occur alongside the G20. It represents the closest alignment of G20 with the Clean Energy Ministerial, a unique opportunity to combine the political leadership of the G20 with the practical action of the CEM. The CEM is a ready-made platform available to transform the G20 political momentum into tangible implementation.

The meeting brings together the world’s energy community to discuss in a unique collaborative platform the entire spectrum of clean energy technologies and the enabling environments needed to bring them to mass deployment. Government representatives, CEOs, international organization, energy experts, civil society will reunite around one common goal: advancing clen energy together. The four-day programme includes CEO-Minister roundtables, high-level dialogues, technology displays, and more than 80 side events. Despite their name, side events represent a main part of the programme and feature roundtables, report launches, celebration moments for the year-long work of the CEM’s 21 workstreams. They are a great occasion to highlight the achievements of CEM’s workstreams and their yearlong international collaboration efforts.

The meeting will witness the launch of new efforts to supercharge the clean energy transition, including the CEM Marine Hubs initiative and the International Hydrogen Trade Forum. The CEM14 will bring together the key players of those sectors to strengthen collaboration and to better coordinate practical actions for the future of clean energy. The meeting will also put a spotlight on important topics, such as battery storage, sustainable cooling, access to energy, low-carbon hydrogen, biofuels, industry decarbonisation and much more. This will also be an opportunity for countries to galvanize action by joining CEM workstreams, giving further boost to advancement of clean energy. Finally, numerous reports and policy briefs are going to be published and presented during side events.

The 14^th Clean Energy Ministerial is a public event that will take place in person, although some side events may be live streamed for those who won’t be able to join in Goa. Registration is already open on the website, including a separate section for media persons.
