Participation in the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) is action-oriented and flexible. CEM clean energy initiatives and campaigns are based on areas of common interest, and countries step forward to lead or support those initiatives and campaigns that are priorities in their national context. This distributed leadership approach fosters clean energy collaboration and innovation around the world.
The 24 participating CEM countries and the European Commission together account for about 75 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions and 90 percent of global clean energy investment. They are the world’s leaders in clean energy research, development, and implementation.
