C3E Announces Sixth Annual Awards

The annual C3E Awards recognize the contributions of women in clean energy.

The U.S. Clean Energy Education and Empowerment (C3E) initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial is now accepting nominations for the Sixth Annual C3E Awards. The C3E Awards recognize the outstanding leadership and accomplishments of mid-career women working in clean energy throughout the United States. Award winners are honored at the C3E Symposium, which takes place in November and will be hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Energy Initiative. Each awardee also receives a cash gift of $8,000 to be used toward advancing the goals of the C3E initiative, i.e., supporting women in clean energy.

The 2017 C3E Awards honor mid-career leadership and achievement in eight categories:

  • Advocacy
  • Business
  • Education
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Government
  • International
  • Law & Finance
  • Research

Nominations are solicited nationwide, then carefully vetted by the U.S. C3E Ambassadors.

The C3E Awards are part of an important effort to raise the visibility, participation, and leadership of women in clean energy. Currently, women make up substantially less than half of the workforce in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields and across the clean energy sector. C3E recognizes that the ideas and talents of all members of society are essential to meeting our future clean energy challenges.

Past Awardees report that the recognition has enhanced their opportunities and visibility in the clean energy community or helped to attract funding for their work. Recognizing leadership and achievement promotes career advancement and inspires women of all ages to contribute to the clean energy field.

The deadline to submit nominations is March 15. To learn more about the C3E Awards or submit a nomination, visit the C3E website: https://c3eawards.org/.
